INLIGHT JOURNAL · IN-0210
Start with your cabinets, your power source and the way you use the space. These three choices make it easier to build a layout that feels considered from the first cup of coffee to the last task of the day.
Hendrix comes in seven nominal lengths: 9, 12, 18, 24, 32, 40 and 48 inches. Measure the usable space beneath each cabinet and choose the length that suits that section. Leave room for the connection and cable route. Check the actual dimensions for the selected size before ordering.
A kitchen with mixed cabinet widths does not need one repeated light size. A shorter fixture can serve a coffee nook while a longer fixture covers a larger prep area.
A nearby outlet can make plug-in installation a practical choice. If you want the fixture connected directly to household wiring, plan a hardwired installation with a qualified electrician. The right choice depends on the power already available and the finish you want under the cabinets.
Plan the cable route before mounting. Keep cords away from hot surfaces and moving doors, and follow the installation instructions for connection and clearance.
Different Hendrix lengths can be linked to follow the cabinet layout. Sketch the fixture positions and the spaces between them, then select compatible linking accessories. Do not assume that every connector or cord shown in another model's package is interchangeable.
Check the linked-load limit on the fixture and in its instructions. The number of fixtures alone does not determine whether a layout is suitable.
Consider both task lighting and the atmosphere after the work is done. Keep fixture settings consistent across a connected run for a cohesive appearance. If you plan to use a wall dimmer, confirm compatibility with the selected dimmer model before installation.
For hardwired installation, have a qualified electrician follow the product instructions and applicable local requirements.
