Great deal!

Like a chump I was buying from Home Depot, but these are just as great and so much cheaper. What a deal. Highly recommend if you have a lot of outlets to be re-done. Great price, good materials and delivered quick.

A little small but worked

I added another outlet to my hallway and went with this one because of the install options it offers. Because of the anchors, it doesn't have to be nailed into a stud, option that it worked out for me since there was no stud where I wanted to install it. I added an outlet with 2 usb ports and it felt a bit tight, not much space left. Splicing another line into this box would be extremely tight

If you own a mobile home buy these

I started on a project adding a new plug and a switch, went to Lowes bought a few old work boxes. Came home cut hole and the Lowes boxes were to deep and would not work, ordered these and they worked perfectly. I willl order more to have on hand.

Nice tight fit.

The gang boxes work as described and one secured. They are nice and tight. They're made of a good heavy set plastic and our perfectly in line. In terms of size and other standard boxes. I would definitely order again

Great deal on outlet boxes

OKay, I do like these boxes and have used a lot of them. Yes, they are a different color (who cares?).. and yes, the plastic seems sturdier and stiffer. That's partly a good thing and partly bad, because the knockouts are very stiff and have to be loosened considerably before pulling through your romex. Also, sometimes you need to get your own machine screws because the holes for them are too tight. Overall, though a good deal (with a little extra effort involved.)

Two Major Flaws!

When I first received these they seemed to be ok. But while installing I discovered two major issue that would make me not recommend them. One the knockouts are to stiff causing them to gouge the romex as you pull it through which I have never had problems with on big box store brands. Two and the more annoying problem is the outlet or switch holes are to small. The standard screw will start to thread then jam up and strip. I managed to use two of them by drilling the holes out with a slightly larger bit and using the next size up machined screws. The last one I tossed. Not worth the hassle!

old work box

I needed to install a couple of outlets in my sheet rock finished garage and used these boxes. After cutting a hole in the sheet rock, installed the wires, pulled them into the box and inserted the box into the wall. Tighten a couple of screws and the retaining pieces swing into position and lock the box perfectly into the sheet rock.

Plastic is slightly more rigid than others.

I needed to install a couple of outlets under my eaves so I picked these up. The form is pretty much identical to what you'd find at your local hardware store. The plastic is slightly more rigid than what I'm used to using however it wasn't a factor during installation. I did not have any issue and it worked well. The instructions have the dimensions of the box but I would have liked to see a template included for marking the cut-out.Price-wise they are a little more expensive than what I pay at the local chain hardware stores but it's convenient having a box of 12 outlet boxes.

Perfect

Installation is easy and this receptacle box is for people who is trying to install an additional outlet in an already finished building. There is no need to find a stud. You can install this anywhere on your drywall because the locking wings will hold this receptacle box in place.

Great for remodels

I purchased these to update light switches from my house to smart switches. Almost all smart switches require more space than the older junction boxes. These junction boxes have been able to accommodate every switch and receptacle I've thrown at it.

The wings protrude out and hold the box in place.

I added a couple receptacles at my cabin and used these rework boxes which worked great as I didn't have to nail or screw the boxes into the studs/beams. I was able to cut a hole in the paneling, push the wires out the hole which I ran into the box and then inserted the box into the hole and screwed the wings tight. The box held in place when I tightened both wings up, I didn't need to add any screws into the box and then the paneling, however that is an option if needed. These were a little bit different plastic composition than some electrical boxes that I purchased locally in the past. But they did the job, and you can't even tell the receptacles that were recently added from the original receptacles.

Easy installation.

The pop-in boxes are sturdy and work great. I trace the rectangular shape onto the drywall and cut the hole. The boxes slip in and secure with the plastic ears that tighten from the front of the box. The boxes have wire strain reliefs built into the rear of the boxes both at the bottoms and tops that prevent the wire(s) from being inadvertently pulled out. The boxes also come with two pre drilled holes in the rear of the box. These come in handy when securing the box to blocking in the wall cavity. The boxes work great for old work, as well as new work after drywall installation.

Gang outlet boxes - these are solid!

Perfect for adding an electrical outlet box to drywall that is already up. The brackets snug up really tight and you do not need to attach to a stud in the wall. Very easy to use and the brackets grabbed right on to the drywall for a great fit. Mine did not come with a template to cut a hole in the wall, but not a big deal, just hold it up and draw a line around the open side of the box and you're ready to go.

Value old work electrical boxes - thumbs up

I think these Inlight Single Gang Electrical Outlet Boxes are a pretty good deal for the price. They are standard depth and are designed pretty much the same as the blue boxes we are all used to. I like the fact these have two screw holes in the back as that allows them to be secured in that manner as well as using the tabs that grab the wall material. Going to use them for some remodel work at my parents. My only concern is that these appear to be slightly more brittle plastic than the more expensive blue option. Won't be a problem for me but if you tweak them too much I have a feeling they will crack. The boxes come with an excellent description of how to install them and a technical information sheet. They are sized at 2.89 inches deep 2.26 inches wide and 4.34 inches high.Edited Review: holes for the outlets are too small for standard size screws, I thought they were fine on the one that I tested but once you get near the bottom I was not able to torque them down all the way, so tested a third box and had the same problem... Ended up using drywall screws which should not be necessary.

Good value, good quality

Apart from the color, these single-gang old-work boxes look absolutely identical to those available at local big-box and hardware stores, with the same dimensions, same wing clamps and the same 4 plastic knockouts at the rear of the box. They're the standard size at 14 cubic inches, UL listed, and a good value for a package of 3.
